MASTER THE CLASSIC FRENCH 'NO MAKEUP MAKEUP LOOK'

The key to achieving the perfect 'no makeup makeup' look that the French wear so well is simple. Always go for the less is more approach and focus on skincare more than makeup. Why? The French, like most Europeans, aim for a more natural, elegant look than we are used to in the U.S. Fake lashes, nails, and hair extensions are less common there, and there's a general attitude of 'emphasize what you've got,' especially when it comes to beauty.

Here are a few favorites to achieve the classic French girl makeup look:

1. A light tinted moisturizer like this one from Saie Beauty or this one from Ilia.

2. A cream contour for a bit of definition. We love this one (if you can find it before it sells out) from Charlotte Tilbury.

3. A cream blush in a universally flattering shade. This one from Olio e Osso is to die for.

4. A great black mascara like this one from Hourglass Cosmetics.

5. And you can't forget a red lip! Chanel is classic, of course in the color 'AMOUR'

Et Voilà! You're ready to go.
