I have bought just about every soap under the sun, this one takes the cake! First, use the modified Tudor washing method, in old times they rubbed themselves with a linen cloth, no water. Indians bathed in the river, no soap. Scrub your body in the shower with running water and a soft cloth, this removes skin, junk, oils, etc. Brush your hair with a tawashi, a natural bristle brush which will absorb oils from hair, beards, underarms, into the brush fibers. Scrub your neck with the brush also, keeps that film from building up and getting on your shirt collar. Second, turn off the water. Third, rub your body and hair with soap, and you will find you require very little soap because your skin is already smooth and your hair has most of the oils removed. The key is to use very little soap on your hair, otherwise you rob the sebum sack of oils in your hair follicles. Keep your soap bar dry and it will last way longer. This soap smells a bit like it would be used to clean tanks, however a National Guardsman friend complains when he has to actually clean them, and they use plain old soap. I joked and asked why don't they use Armor All, and he said that is what they finish with. What happens is your mind quits registering the smell after a week, and no one else has complained in my family, and they all like soaps with fairy scents in them, which smell disgusting to me. Don't get me wrong, I like expensive perfumes that are made with 10,000 roses per ounce, I just don't like artificial scents that are passed as "fragrance" rather than farts from a chemical factory. As a medical researcher, I wonder about this soap, because my skin and hair are very, very happy. There seems to be a waterproof film on my skin now, however it may just be my imagination. What I believe is standard lye soaps remove our waterproof skin protective layer, and this soap does not damage that layer. Just a hunch, however usually I am correct. So you have to try out this soap for a month, to give it a fair trial. I love it, and this big bar set is very economical. Thank you.
This works great! Looking for plant based, plastic free, minimal packaging dish soap option and ordered this after LOTS of research. Another reviewer noted the smel, and it stronger than I usually like (sensitive nose) and is weirdly chemical but this soap works so well! My partner also doesn’t like the smell and didn’t want to use the soap at first but after the first try remarked on how well it works on dishes. For now we are sticking with it, and I find the smell bothers me less every day.
