MAINTENANCE

OILING YOUR BOARD

Regular maintenance will make the surface much easier to clean and will keep the wood hydrated, while allowing it to retain its natural color.
Linseed oil, which is a drying oil, will provide tough and longer lasting protection against knife wear and cleaning. This oil yellows the wood and gives an aged appearance over time.
Rice, soy, nut, almond, or grapeseed oil are also good. Do not use olive oil, as it makes the board sticky and dirty.

MAINTAIN YOUR RUSTIC BOARD

Hot soapy water is recommended after cutting meat, for other foods, hot water is sufficient. Avoid completely soaking the board in water and never put it in the dishwasher. Dry it with a clean, dry cloth.
To remove stains and odors, just a little salt, lemon and white vinegar, leave for 5 to 10 minutes then wipe off with a damp cloth.
